2014 Northwest Family Business Survey
In 2014, PFBI spoke with nearly 200 family businesses throughout the Pacific Northwest, asking them about government policy, economic conditions, and even management structure. The resulting report is more than a set of facts and figures – it's a way to see what's on the mind of family business owners, which challenges are keeping them up at night, and what trends make them feel hopeful for the future.
Specific goals included the following:
- To understand the issues, challenges, and benefits unique to family businesses
- To hear about key issues family businesses anticipate for the future
- To gather information on business operations and characteristics
- To understand how current and potential laws and regulations affect family businesses
An additional goal of the survey was to create a panel of family business representatives for participation in future studies.
